Meditation
the
modern
medicine for stress, anxiety and unhappiness
People are
willing to change their present situation but unwilling to change their
circumstances. The time when you are born to the time when you die you are
surrounded by positive and negative forces. You cannot stop them. But you can
choose which ever force you want. Most of us go in circle trying to reach the
sky but they go nowhere. I receive emails from people all around the world
saying I want to change my life. What ever I try to do nothing is working.
What should I do to make it right? The key to unlock is within your reach. We
all search for things outside of ourselves. We blame the economy, people
around us, circumstances, environment etc etc. Some people spend thousands and
thousands of dollars to change their circumstances. But finally they come to a
conclusion, life has no meaning. There are
6
billion people
on this planet and 97% of them do the same things, they think the same way, do
things the same way and live the same way. Only 3% do things different and
they live a happy, richer and peaceful life.
We hear people
saying the world is full of fear, anxiety, disharmony and unhappiness. I
totally agree with that. But it is also true
that
the world has peace, joy,
happiness, wealth and prosperity in abundance. It is the choice you make. If
you want serenity, peace, calmness of mind, tranquillity it is within your
reach, if you want wealth, prosperity and abundance it is within your reach,
if you want unhappiness, sadness, sickness it is within your reach. So there
is plenty of choices you can make. Thoughts are everywhere. An average person
thinks 50 to 60 thousands thoughts a day. Most of them are negative. If you
work everyday to think positive thoughts all through the day for 21 days, you
can see the difference in your face, in your health,
in your
relationship and in
your wallet.
Life will
be very different. Everything you touch will be successful. Positive minded
people attract positive people and their good habits. God has created you in
his own image. He has given you all the potential to become a successful,
happy and
a peaceful
person.
Today I am
going to focus on Meditation. Meditation gives you inner peace. In order to
have peace of mind, serenity and tranquillity you have to meditate every day.
In the western world stress related illness is on the rise. People have so
many problems like broken marriages, broken relationships, physical, mental
and emotional illness. Disharmony
within and around them.
They are unable to stop the chaotic mind which is like a monkey jumping from
one branch to the another. The only way to free your mind is meditation.
Meditation is like medicine.
It heals your body and soul. When you take medicine there is always side
effects. The only side effect with meditation is calmness, serenity and
tranquility. If you are suffering from anxiety, phobias or any form of
antisocial behaviour start to meditate. It doesn't cost you any money only
thing you have to give is your time. The more you meditate the more focused
you become, you will be able to concentrate better and mingle better with
friends, families, neighbours and colleagues. Meditation is nothing but a
state of mind. Focusing your mind on a particular object or saying a
mantra or listening to your breathe. When I meditate first I would detach
myself from all thoughts. Instead of participating with my thoughts I will
detach myself and watch my thoughts. When you start to do that very soon you
will learn to control your feelings and emotions. If you fight with your
thoughts you will go no where. Imagination is more powerful than free
will. If a particular thought comes to your mind and you want to remove
that thought and you go on saying affirmation that you won't think that
thought. I guarantee you very soon you will be consumed with that thought.
Fight with your thoughts is like fighting with the tiger. You will never win.
First sit quietly in a chair
free from all disturbance, away from the telephone, away from noise like TV,
radio, and people. You can meditation sitting or lying down.
See which is more comfortable for you. Now take a deep breathe hold to the
count of four and then breathe out. Do that for 3 or 4 times. If you have pain
in any part of the body- focus your attention in that particular area and then
take a deep breathe, count upto 4 and then breathe out. When you breathe out
feel the pain coming out of your breathe. Now close your eyes and relax. Now
relax every part of your body- from the tip of your toe to the top of your
head. Breathe in and breathe out. When you breathe out say that all your
tension, anxiety, pain and stress are released. When thoughts come to your
mind- do not get agitated and do not try to chase your thoughts away. Detach
yourself from the thoughts and slowly you could see the thoughts going away.
Keep in mind 6 billion people on this planet are going through the same
thoughts, feelings and emotions as you are going through. People have various
problems like unknown fear, anger, doubt and depression. Say to yourself I am
now free from all worries, all fears and all doubts. Now start to focus on
your breathe. Some people like to focus on the sound like the ceiling fan, the
sound of the clock etc. You can choose which ever is comfortable for you.
Focus your attention for 20 minutes. Completely relax your mind. The more you
practice the more you will be able to control your thoughts. It is same as
driving a car. When you reached your destination you turn the ignition key
off. Now the car can't move. The same thing with your thoughts. Once you
master meditation you will be able to stop your thoughts at any moment. You
decide when to think and when to stop. You are the master of your thoughts.
When your mind is under
control you can achieve anything you want in your life. You will be
unstoppable. You will be surrounded by friends and families. You can see
the changes in your face and body. You will look 8 to 10 years younger. You
can see your business flourishing. Everything will change for good. You
can see people coming and talking to you more and more. The reason is you are
more relaxed and you emit positive vibration which will attract people and
wealth like a magnet.
Meditation 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at
night and see the changes. |
